The Project

Dr Aguilar was in need of a website and visual identity assets for his private practice. The website serves mainly to provide information to potential clients and as a portal to contact Dr Aguilar and to schedule appointments.

The full scope of the project consists of: monogram, business card, invoice template, and website for mobile and desktop.

Brand Identity Visual Assets

Monogram

Dr Aguilar needed a logo or monogram which could be used on his business card, invoices, and website.

Color + Visual Elements

During our consultation Dr Aguilar cited his favorite restaurant as a central inspiration. He also expressed that he didn’t want to use stock photos that might give his website a generic or inauthentic look. He wanted to it to give a warm, personal impression.

Color palettes were derived from the images of the restaurant’s interior on the mood board. To provide a solution for adding visual interest without relying on stock photographs, I created a few abstract design options, also inspired by images on the mood board.

Design: Setting the Tone

Dr Aguilar’s website is intended to provide information to existing and prospective clients. Using copy provided by Dr Aguilar, I identified quotes to highlight and edited together sections for predetermined topics.

The contact form contains important questions which determine whether a potential client is eligible to work with Dr Aguilar based on state residency and agreement to meet virtually and a link to the FAQ which offers answers to important questions. Custom contact forms can be helpful in establishing procedures which inform the client and guide them to answer a series of qualifying questions which will let them know if this therapist’s practice is a good match to what they’re looking for.

Highlighting Special Offerings

It’s important to bring attention to specific areas of Dr. Aguilar’s work. In addition to working with couples and individuals in a therapeutic setting, Dr Aguilar trains other professionals in his specialties. It was also important to draw attention to his experience with popular modalities like EMDR, as many clients may be searching for a practitioner who uses these.

Overview of Mobile Design

In full, the website consists of five pages: home, about, services, contact, and faq. The menu contains one additional link to a scheduler on a HIPAA approved website which Dr Aguilar uses for scheduling and storing client records. When a client accesses the scheduling page from Dr Aguilar’s website it will automatically open in a new window so that the full website is still accessible.
